BRIEF:
FIRSTS THAT LAST
For the second year running, at Ravensbourne, we were given the opportunity to take part in the redesign of Kopparberg's limited edition label.
The creative proposition for this cider brief was 'Firsts that Last', no pun intended.
Think of the first time you tried something new. The first time you visited another country, the first time you tried a new dish, the first time you tried Kopparberg cider.
It's a memory that continues forever and ever.
Given a rundown of Kopparberg's Swedish history and a few inspirations from young influencers making a change like Billie Eilish, it was now up to us to find our 'First that last' and create a design solution.

Initial Inspiration
To Begin, I created a Pinterest board to gather images for design inspiration. When thinking of 'Firsts that Last' I first thought of the refreshing feeling that one would get after drinking the cider. I looked more into the flavours and thought of the first time back in Antigua; the freshness of the Caribbean sea, fruit and flowers.
Linking this to Sweden now, I considered the Northern lights and their bright refreshing energy! As I Missed seeing the northern lights myself, I understand the rarity of experiencing its magnificence. That would be a first that lasted.

Refined image selection
Design Layer One:
 'Refreshing Remix'
Narrowing down the inspirations that I favoured from this collection, I decided to create a few versions and ultimately decide which one I preferred the most. Inspired by the combined fruit photoshop art pictured above, merged with the northern lights, I created these designs with procreate.

Despite the creation of the above design, I knew I was not going to use it as it was not original enough and I dislike creating unoriginal pieces. However, I finished the illustrations so I was able to practise the art style and some blending techniques.
I continued down three routes of design: A Swedish outdoor party scenery, the northern lights and a Kopparberg World. I tried out the first two routes and was very fond of the northern lights outcome out of the completed two.

But wait...
Now happy with my northern lights design, it was now time to convert this to a vector in illustrator and it was here I noticed I had made an error. I spent all of my time creating my designs in procreate intending for them to be easily converted into a vector, but I was incorrect.
After learning this lesson, I now needed to create a design that was vector friendly. I decided to now pursue my Metaverse route and used this design as my final entry.

Extra dESIGN Development
I decided to develop this project further and create an image of the Kopparberg World I intended to create for advertising. Below are the outcomes.
